I joined the SJS(St Joseph) Open which started today. I joined the under-14 age group. I lost my doubles to two Form twos 21-10 21-10. I partnered Timothy Chan. However, I will try harder next year as my opponents would be joining the under-15 category and not the under-14 category. Today, I won my singles against a malay named Kalmaruddin. I won him 21-5 21-4. I feel sad for him, but at the same time, i had to play seriously or i will lose my momentum. However, he is a lot better than my friend(The Cheater).
He wasnt angry with me after the match and he shook hands with me, unlike my friend(The Cheater).I am happy although i lost in my doubles as i had tried my best and i will also strive for excellence. I hope all badminton players will not give up and try their best no matter what. An example is Lee Chong Wei who won the Malaysia Super Series Badminton Open in Kuching in 2006 when he was losing to Lin Dan(World No.1) 20-13 in the third set(rubber set). He managed to chase to 20-20 and Lin Dan got a point which makes it 21-20 but Lee Chong Wei did not want to waste his efforts he had put in to get 7 points in a row and forced three points in a row out of Lin Dan ending the match 23-21. Because of this match his ranking went to World No.1 from World No.2 and Lin Dan went down to rank No.2. However, Lin Dan, too, did not give up and fought hard to regain his title as World No.1 and regain his nickname 'Super Dan' in just 2- 4 weeks.
Tomorrow, i will be meeting Adam Lau, a twin, who is very good in badminton, in quarter-finals. He beat Timothy Chan, Benjamin Teo and Shau Ching last year in Kason Open. However, i will try to beat him and go all out tomorrow. I would be very happy if i beat him but i will be happy if i give him a fight and make it either 21-19 or deuce. It did be better to play rubber set. But of course, beating him is the best. Even if i beat him, i will no get through the semi-finals which i will meet Jeremy Toh. Jeremy Toh was last year under 12-champion and had ever beaten Anthony Lim(now in Bukit Jalil). No matter what, i will still go all out till i lose in this competition as it will be a good memory if i beat Adam Lau.
